Yahoo Halts Livestand App In Spite of Good Ratings
The Livestand app has been shown the door by Yahoo, despite it having garnered high ratings. You might remember that the app had also attained a four-star review at Apple’s App Store.

It now looks like Yahoo wants to create a more meaningful experience to users, partners, advertisers and developers, going by what the company has explained in its official blog.
Since they mentioned advertisers, it could be a possibility that they could not get a lot of consumer support and reach even though the app has been reviewed as pretty good.
Other apps at Yahoo like Meme, Mim, Answers, AppSpot and a lot of others have been discontinued earlier. The latest in the line is Livestand, and Yahoo says it would focus more on a browser named new Axis mobile browser which also has a desktop extension.
Maybe the company will bring out a better version of the Livestand or maybe it just won’t. We can’t put our finger on what really went wrong but the reason might because of the low crowd support.
Without crowd-support, what good is an app even with good ratings? Now we need to wait and see how Yahoo comes out with the new Axis mobile browser.
