Tom-Tom to Make an Appearance on Android Terrain Too

It is no news that most of the apps out there are jumping from Android to iOS and vice-versa. The same thing is happening with Tom-Tom. A major navigation player, Tom-Tom was one of the first GPS manufacturers to make an appearance on Apple’s iOS. It guided the users by giving them turn-by-turn voice directions. It was well rated on the iOS platform.

The Android version will be out soon. So, it is safe to presume that the summer will be a very busy season for Tom-Tom.

There won’t be big differences with the Android version of the app but that doesn’t mean it will be fully similar. Since the iOS and the Android OS differ greatly in terms of performance as they both work in different ways, there will be a few minor adjustments to the Android version of the app.

While it is true that Tom-Tom was one of the best navigation apps out there on iOS, the same can’t be said for the app when it comes to Android. This is because Tom-Tom isn’t alone in the business in the Android section, and the competition is a bit stronger.

With services like Google Maps, Navigon, Garmin and Telenav, it certainly isn’t going to be child’s play even to just make an appearance.

There are also rumors of the new Android app carrying value-added features like map updates and traffic but you can still be certain that the app will work well even without those.  Hopefully, the app will be out sometime in the summer. So till then, we will all have to wait.
