Put that ‘Tiny Wings’ and ‘Jetpack Joyride’ in a blender, and finally the mixture into a space setting, and you get what developers Kumobius’s ‘Time Surfer’ tastes like. Stepping out from what they have done previously with their popular platformer, Bean’s Quest, Time Surfer tries a new formula, quiet possibly a title that will make you stay until the battery drains out.

Time Surfer adopts the idea of side-scroller with running game mechanism; you know getting the maximum possible distance covered to earn the points till you burst out. The game is themed on space and various planet grounds, where we make our surfer go as much as he could while dodging aliens, meteoroids and spike thingies.

Simple tap on the jump icon will trigger the jump. Time your taps perfectly to get the greater distance and altitude, say, when you reach a cliff edge. Got smashed up with a foe, well that’s where the game’s rewind time works great.

From the other titles out there for the iOS, what this game differs in is the addition of time rewind ability. You can rewind the time when you fall of the cliff, or get hit by meteoroids, or get collided with any of those fluttering aliens, so that you can redo to get a better jump, or to avoid a hit.

The boostables are sprinkled in the form of gems, where you can find it randomly while surfing. Collect the gems as much as possible, so that you can fill your time bar to use the rewind ability.

Gems can’t be found lavishly around the space, so count every time you use the power. Like in the Jetpack Joyride, some bonus power-up icons can be found during the game play.

Your surfer can also be shelled out in the from of a human cannonball, getting you to stack up with more distance in a limited time.

From your performance, you earn cakes which you can spend on purchasing a cool new outfit for your surfer, or for buying a pet. Pets add special powers, like one will boost your initial take off speed and another one will protect you from falling of edges.

Time Surfer is the best runner available for iOS and it has got flashy visuals and adhering soundtrack to stick you to your phone for hours.  Costing only $0.99, which is certainly worth the price, you can find it in the AppStore.
