The long wait has come to an end. Spotify radio functionality has finally come to Android. And it’s completely free of charge.
The update to Spotify for Android will have ads between songs though. But if you are a premium account holder, it will be ad-free for you.
Starting July 31, users can enjoy Spotify radio on their Androids for free, said the company in a press release. Spotify’s latest app offers free radio – the only radio where users can save the songs they love. It’s now easier to discover, save and enjoy an unlimited amount of music on the go.
Spotify is not just streaming radio, it brings to you the songs you love. Spotify learns your taste to generate a playlist for you, from your thumbs up or thumbs down given to the songs you listen to. It also lets you create your own radio stations based upon a playlist, album or even a single song. When you come across a song that you like, you can save that too to listen back on any Spotify-enabled device.
Free radio is at present only available in the U.S., but the premium version is available to everyone. You can get the update from Google Play Store..
