In case you haven’t come across this one, here is the new iOS app called KLIK, which enables you to develop a facial profile of everyone in your Facebook network. The app helps in real time face recognition to auto-identify. Thus, you can tag your friends in the photo, and also scanning those photos.

On KLIK app for the iPhone, names of your friends appear right next to their photo before or after you take the picture. If the app fails to recognize a face, it can use a “learn mode” to improve and train recognition.

The app is helpful when only a few people get tagged in the photos taken during any function or party. KLIK identifies people by matching faces in the images taken with or uploaded to the app.

Also, it relies on Facebook, so only friends in the user’s network can be identified. It is not that the user can just point the app at any random person and make it identify that particular person.

The learn mode makes the app understand who a person is by pointing the iPhone camera at the person and then entering their name.
