Swarmly, is a brand new app for iPhone, that has made its mark in the location sharing app market. Swarmly is quite different from other check-in apps like Foursquare or Facebook’s location sharing feature.
Swarmly gives little importance to the social graph and pays a lot of attention to anonymous, aggregate location data that is driven by each of Swarmly user’s location. Swarmly is therefore the smartphone app that gives its users a stunning real-time swarm map and helps to find the information that will be required to make an informed decision about what venues to visit and what buzz to experience and share at the moment.
In order to share the location on social networking sites, users will have to merely toggle the ‘pollinate’ option so that their position will begin contributing to any close by ‘swarms’, which are joined to precise locations in Swarmly’s database.
Those swarms will then become visible on a map, thereby giving a quick real-time summary of where there is action or where it is not. It is a two person startup and is currently unfunded. Swarmly is targeting various universities, student and also certain markets in the Glasgowarea in Scotland. This app is totally free of cost and requires no signup or registration.
