To the social networks pool, Between comes as a latest addition. And, a sweet one at that! The new private social network has been developed specially for couples. The South Korea-based VCNC’s app has already attracted many with its services.

The interesting fact is that the app allows two related persons to share private photos, chat with each other and send secret messages. While on chat mode, you can also use emoticons for conveying smiley faces, winks, and hearts to your partner.

The company, in the coming days, will provide special coupons and offers from the marketers for the couples who are looking for romantic experiences and adventures. The new service allows you to view previous communications and photos in an album mode called the Memory Box – we think that’s something similar to Facebook’s Timeline.

The company is planning to add paid services, which will allow it to make some revenue initially through the printing of photobooks. It is also expected that they will provide other premium services like high-resolution image backups, video uploading, and more.

The beta version of Between, which was released back in November 2011, already has more than 350,000 users. Currently, 78 percent of the app users are from South Korea, followed by Japan, China and the US with 9, 6 and 4 percents respectively. In addition, the company is also preparing to set up an office in the US, to popularize the app.

The Between app was officially introduced on March 7 at the launch conference in San Francisco. The app that runs both on iOS and Android platforms are available for free downloads at the Apple’s App Store and Android Market.
