Amazon Launches Android App Store in Europe

The US exclusivity of Amazon App Store has come to an end. The online retailer-turned-tablet maker has announced that it has released its Android App Store in countries outside the United States. That means Amazon customers outside the US can also enjoy the apps sold through its App Store.

Amazon launched its App Store in the UK, Germany, France, Italy and Spain, thereby granting European customers access to Amazon’s wide variety of Android applications for tablets and smartphones.

Just like other Amazon store websites, the Amazon App Store lets users to go through the various apps and choose the ones they like the most. The Amazon Appstore also includes popular Amazon features like personalized recommendations, customer reviews and one-click payments.

Amazon’s Appstore offers an enormous selection of games and apps, including local favorites like “Jamie Oliver’s 20 Minute Meals” and “Skyscanner,” well known bestsellers like “Fruit Ninja” and “Cut the Rope,” and new apps from higher end brands like Rovio and Glu Mobile.

The Appstore also comes with features like the “Free App of the Day,” which offers a paid app for free every day. Customers can get the Amazon App Store for their Android phones and tablets by heading here.

In Germany, France and Italy, Amazon customers will find the new Android App Store under “App-Shop”, in Spain under “Tienda Apps”, and in the UK under “Amazon App Store for Android.”
