Shaka Unveils Wind Meter and Companion App for iPhone
Are you an avid surfer? Then you might have come across the news of data-collecting sensors finding their way into a surfboard. Now, there is a little wind meter and a new iOS app that let you measure the wind speed, direction and temperature in real time, using your iPhone.

Start-up company Shaka’s idea is to make you more air-aware; the small wind meter can be plugged into the 3.5mm headphone jack on your iPhone and it communicates info on wind speed and direction to the app that comes along with it.
Not just this, the app will help you share your measurements with friends via popular social networks, and keep records of your favorite hangouts.
Shaka claims that the idea was to create an accurate wind meter for smartphones that would actually be connected and allow wind information to be easily shared between wind addicts in real-time.
The wind meter is in the final stages of development and is expected to retail for $59. Also, Android and Windows Phone versions of the wind meter are in the works.
