Reading Rainbow App To Debut on iPad
You can’t just forget Reading Rainbow, can you? The award winning television series will be there on tablets from now on. There’s a brand new iPad app on the market that promotes reading among children by bringing in the best of the Reading Rainbow series.

The new Reading Rainbow app is created by RRKidz, a startup co-founded by Reading Rainbow host LeVar Burton and producer Mark Wolfe. The app comes with classic Reading Rainbow segments, 16 new video field trips starring LeVar Burton, and 150 narrated interactive books.
The purpose of Reading Rainbow app is the same as the television series, to make kids read. The app makers chose tablets as the new medium for reaching out to kids not because they watch TV any less, but many of them have access to tablets. The idea is that instead of playing Angry Birds in a tablet, kids can do something more worthwhile.
The Reading Rainbow app will deliver books, interactive educational content, and other videos and information for $9.99 a month.
