Top Windows Phone 8 App to Get Free TV Ad
It is possible that you will soon see one lucky app in a Windows Phone 8 TV advertisement. Guess how? Windows Phone Next App Star contest is, no doubt, a big platform open to all Windows Phone developers around the globe. Developers who wish to participate are required to register via the Dev Center by March 5.

Those who are not yet ready with their app can also participate, provided it will be live by the date specified. It is learnt that you don’t need to be a long time app developer to make it to the contest. So, gear up.
The apps will be judged based on quality and ratings after which 64 will be selected for public voting. All the 64 apps will be awarded some type of award. The entries will be reviewed by Microsoft with special focus on how well the app implements Windows Phone 8 features.
The top 64 apps will be further shortlisted to 32, then 16 and so on. Only the last app standing will receive the grand prize.
As Microsoft says, the apps will undergo a “head-to-head, bracket-style competition.” An ad placement in a primetime Windows Phone TV commercial in the United States is not a small offer after all, right? The other developers will receive lesser prizes, such as a Dev Center 1-year subscription and a Nokia Lumia 920.
