We have applications for just about anything now, don’t we? Well, here is one for iOS devices that assists you in saving energy. This one, called the MEGAMAN LuxMeter can measure the light level in a room, and give you some useful tips on the usage of energy efficient LED of CFL lamps.

LuxMeter basically checks if there is enough light in your office, home, in a shop or school, using your iPhone camera; just touch the OK button and leave the rest to the app. It measures light intensity in Lux, which will replaceWattsas the standard measure of light bulb performance.

The Lamp Finder function finds an economic replacement for existing low-efficiency halogen of incandescent lamps. Also, users can snap an image of a lamp or select a shape of the bulb and the Lamp Finder will come up with a list of alternative LED and CFL lamps.

The Energy Saving Cal in the MEGAMAN LuxMeter app will show the user how much could be potentially saved by using LED or CFL bulbs. It helps identify energy and money savings by considering the cost of the entire installation and entering quantity of lamps, hours of operation, and electricity unit cost.
