This interesting fact was revealed by a study conducted by mobile ad firm Fiksu. Based on their research, in November, a record of 5.65 million free app downloads per day was recorded. This number, in the meantime, has been registered by taking into account only the top free 200 iPhone apps in theUS.

Comparing the stats of October which stood at 4.9 million, a 15 percent increase has been seen in November. While comparing this with the rate recorded one year back, an 83 percent rise was seen.

In the month of September, the downloading rate reached a lower point of 3.8 million. But after the release of iPhone 4S and iOS 5 in October, it increased to 4.9 million.

Fiksu points out that the launch of the new device and the upgraded OS has resulted in the sizeable increase in app downloads at the Apple App Store.

The fast acceptance of iOS 5 among app developers was also seen as a reason for the high rate in November.

The numbers may be much more if all app downloads are taken into consideration. It is almost sure that the download rate will reach new records in the coming months, as iOS devices sales and activations had grown during December.
