Auto-correct: that hilarious piece of development that borders on irksomeness. You might not always get the meaning of what you type if the auto-correct function rules your phone.

Though it does get pretty irritable when you type, the corrections are, more often than not, petty jokes we laugh about later. But this time the function has gone a tad too far and the end result has left some developers shedding tears of woe.

A Texas based start-up has been on the receiving end of Google’s auto-correct function. The Dallas company’s app called Locai has been erased off the market.

Hardly a week has passed since the developers introduced their app into the Android Market, and now you can’t find it in there. When you type ‘Locai’ in the Market search bar, Google assumes that you meant ‘Local’ and brings up apps that fit that description.

The only way to find the app is by typing “Locai” with the quotes. Not a pretty sight for the developers, and definitely not something to laugh about.

Wonder what Google’s going to do about it. Hope they deal with the issue soon and get that function fixed before more apps start disappearing.
