Food Network Launches Own Meal Finder App
Food Network is now releasing a restaurant finder and recommendation app for iPhone and iPad. Christened On the Road, the app will have many features that are similar to popular food apps like Yelp, Urbanspoon, Nosh, and Forkly.

Instead of obtaining information from various reviews and photos, all the information in the On the Road is from Food Network’s own TV and magazine programs. On the Road can be used to find a random place to eat. There are different segments for each of Food Network’s TV shows, and besides sorting restaurants by shows; you also can find locations by chef, address and cuisine. Incase you are fond of a particular show in FN, then you can bookmark the restaurant or you share and recommend it your friends via social networking websites.
There are several road trip ideas in the app based on particular cities or regional cuisines. There is also a feature to create ones own road trip, and the app makers have a badge based prize system for those to finish those treks. If you are a fan of Food Network, then you’re definitely going to love On the Road. But if you are looking out for a general purpose restaurant suggestion app, this one might disappoint you.
