It’s a smart little surfing game and each stage in the game has two phases. What you need to do is use line-drawing to guide a group of surfers around obstacles to an oncoming wave, and then juggle the various surfers involved by tapping them, dodging various obstacles and keeping them afloat when the wave appears.

Surfers have dolphins, turtles and jellyfish for company among other marine creatures. Come in contact with one of them and your surfer is dead.

The Final Fantasy creator and surfing hobbyist Sakaguchi said that the title comes from the phrase “party wave” which surfers will often yell when several of them end up on a particularly large wave together.

Party Wave is an interesting game, though it’s a bit rough around the edges, it looks great with the blue sea and the pleasant animation. And the music gives the right vibe as well.

Party Wave is a universal app and is available at the iTunes App Sore for $1.99.
