Is there a little game programmer in you? Of course there is. So, this one is for you. The app called Codify is an iPad application you can use for writing software. Yes, you can code games, music software and much more on this one.

The app from Two Lives Left uses colors for keywords, important numbers and the like to make the coding easier to read and follow. Just tap the code and the color picker comes up, filling out the numbers automatically.  You can just tap out the code and press play to run it.

Codify uses the Lua Programming language, which is a simple language that does not rely much on symbols. Also the app comes with sample projects to give an idea of how Lua works. The app also uses multitouch to make the experience much better than the desktop coding apps.

Sci-fi author Cory Doctorow says that the app is a complete nonsense and that it signals the end of computer programming, well at least for those who like a bit of tinkering.

Experiment away with this one on your iPad. The app is available for $8 at the iTunes app store.
