CineXPlayer App to Support Dolby Digital Plus
Hear hear! The latest update for NXP Software’s CineXPlayer app will now support Dolby Digital Plus sound. So all the iOS users out there enjoying multimedia content on their devices will be able to enhance the experience with Dolby Digital 5.1 and 7.1 sound. Dolby Digital has announced that that CineXPlayer now officially supports the AC3 codex which lets users experience Dolby Digital Plus sound.

With the update, users can import movies from either the Camera Roll or Dropbox without syncing to a computer. This one also supports full video AirPlay with an Apple TV. There is improved subtitle support as well.
There’s more, iCloud backup blocking and Facebook/Twitter integration using iOS 5’s Twitter support, and a redesigned interface. This comes in addition to the already-included 720p playback and 3-D support.
Painfully ignore the Dolby news if you do not have a sound system efficient enough to deliver the performance. But if you do, the update to version 2.5 will cost you zilch.
If you do not own the app, head over here or here and spend $2.99 to get yours.
