Having released the companion iOS app a few days ago, Apple will run their ‘12 Days of Christmas’ promotion. The promotion will run between December 26 and January 6, with each day featuring different music, videos, apps and books available for free for 24 hours.

Apple has not yet revealed what content will be offered for free, but if they follow the promotion that they did last year it will see the app update each day, displaying that day’s offering for the respective region (it changes based on the country).

The app is not yet available in all countries. It should be expected that Apple will soon start marketing the promotion through iTunes and through their website.

This Christmas season, iOS device owners can download a great selection of songs, music videos, apps, books, TV episodes and a film for free on iTunes as Apple said in an announcement.

Customers can either sign up for the daily email alerts, or download the company’s special 12 Days of Christmas app, to make sure they don’t miss out on any of the freebies.

According to theCupertinocompany, each free download will be available for 24 hours, while the promotion runs from December 26 to the 6th of January.

The iTunes 12 Days of Christmas app is compatible with iPhone, iPod touch and iPad and requires iOS 3.0 or later. Although an Apple-developed application, the company lists “iTunes” as the entity responsible for its existence: “iTunes 12 Days of Christmas – By iTunes.”

Released on December 13, 2010, iTunes’ 12 Days of Christmas is available in the Entertainment category of the iTunes App Store, and supports English, Dutch, French, German, Italian, and Spanish. Are you getting this one?
