Official Wikipedia App Released for Android Devices
Here is happy news for all you Android fans out there. The official Wikipedia app will finally be available on your devices. In the past, the Wikipedia app was only released for iOS devices. With the app, you can get all the information at your fingertips by using the free encyclopedia packed with more than 20 million articles in 280 languages.

The Wikipedia app will access the mobile site and allow the users to search for details and bookmark the pages.
In the Android version, you can find some additional features such as the ability to save articles for offline use, Android’s ‘Share’ function and view the article in different languages without switching the language of the whole site. It provides a full screen search that allows the users to go for the topics easily.
It is reported that though the app works smoothly with no crashing bugs attack as in the iOS version, it affects the GPS function of the device. The users complain that the GPS is not quitting correctly, after the app is closed.
The free app is compatible with the Android 2.2 and above versions was released last week. You can download the Wikipedia app from the Android Market.
