Digital Pills App Ushers in a New Era in Healthcare
We are all worried and concerned about our health as well as our dear ones. When it comes to health, we tend to be a tad more conscious. Either we need to remember our medication or somebody has to keep track of that for us. Here is something that does exactly that.

Digital Pills are now making their way to the market. What are Digital Pills, you might wonder! These are, in fact, apps in the form of edible computers approved by the US Food and Drug Administration. The apps include a sand particle-sized sensor consisting of a silicon chip in it, capable of telling the doctor whether the patient is following medication as prescribed.
When medicine is swallowed, due to its response to the digestive enzymes, a signal is conveyed to the person’s skin surface and a patch relays the information to the doctor’s mobile phone.
The app inside can also inform the physician about your heart beat rate, other body conditions and the like. So, the doctor will now know all about your diet, regular exercises and the like.
This wonderful technology has been developed by Proteus Digital Health and approved by FDA. The price of the Digital Pill and whether it is covered under insurance still remain unknown. Let’s hope the Digital Pills would signify the beginning of an era in digital medicine.
