Cablevision’s Optimum Online subscribers think Optimum WiFi and those 35,000 indoor and outdoor hotpots are awesome except when they can’t actually find one of those hotspots. The company has now come out with a solution for that too. It has launched a new app that can pinpoint the access points.

The Optimum WiFi Hotspot Finder is available for free download at the Apple App store and users can carry out quick, advanced and “Near Me” searches for indoor and outdoor hotspots, even if they are not connected to the internet.

Cablevision has also come up with a campaign featuring HotSpot the dog and its owner Ben.

Ben objects to the dog bringing its smartphone to a walk because its wireless data charges are out of control. And the dog replies, “Don’t worry about it, our town has dozens of Optimum hotspots.”

Optimum WiFi Hotspot Finder is an important extension of Cablevision’s broadband service, and the company wants to make it as easy as possible for its customers to find and use this free access when away from their wired home or business locations.

Optimum WiFi Hotspot Finder delivers wireless Internet access at speeds of up to 15 Mbps downstream and 4 Mbps upstream and is faster than 3G and 4G cellular data services.
