Do you remember the Logo Quiz game? In that game you had to identify different logos correctly. Now there’s another iPhone game that follows a similar pattern but is based on fonts.

Now, don’t worry. This is not a game for typographers; neither will you have to tell apart your Helvetica from your Calibri. Font Quiz draws on fonts from brands you’ll recognize. Just like logos, there is that moment when the lettering on your product is more than just a name, it is an identity. Just take a look at the D of Disney or the G in Google. Who in this wide world won’t recognize those global brands?

There’s plenty of fun too in Font Quiz. The game is divided into five sections: movies, games, television and bands. Brands, of course are quite easy. But the others are more difficult as we have less exposure to them. There is an option for you to cheat and there is an in-built hint option, which is free and has no impact on how well you do.

There is a tweet option, whereby you can ask your Twitter followers for help, which is a nice way of advertising the game.

The Font Quiz is free, but it is advertising. You will realize that it only takes you an hour or so to play through the whole game, but it’s still fun.
