Apple App Store Surpasses 25 Billion Downloads Landmark
Apple has shown many a time that they are still the leading company in the global market with their technologically innovative products. The Cupertino-based major has now added one more feather to their crown with a new record in the field of apps.

The technology giant has revealed that more than 25 billion apps have been downloaded from their App Store. Apple has shown their happiness by displaying a colorful banner saying “A billion thanks. 25 times over. The App Store has touched 25 billion downloads. Thanks for getting us there” on their official website.
Back in February 13, Apple had started a 25 Billion Apps Countdown Promotion event tempting customers to download more apps on their iPhones, iPads and other devices. The company had been running the contest promising a grand prize of $10,000 gift certificate to the customer who downloads the app that will help Apple to attain the goal. They have revealed that the winner of the event will be listed online in about 10 days – after the promotion period ends.
This is indeed a remarkable achievement by Apple, as they have reached this milestone within 7 months time from July. Back in July 2011, Appleās App Store has gone past the 15 billion mark in the apps downloading. Meanwhile, their rival Google is still lagging far behind as the Android Market has only reached the 10 billion landmark in December.
Do you think can Apple maintain this lead as the Android devices are growing fast now?
